Ah, Barb. From 7 to 11 is quite a jump...wait a minute...a 7 eleven?

Maybe your pc guy can make it a dual boot 7-11 and migrate your data and apps?

He transferred what was on my pc... documents, etc.  It seems to be fairly straight forward.

Hi If you are interested in keeping both OSs running at the same time in a Multi Botting System, you could try

Easy BCD

https://neosmart.net/forums/

As you already have Win 7 on a hard drive, and now Win 11, this will allow you to boot into either one at The  Metro Boot Loading Screen, very easy to add more OSs as you go on, very simple to set up.

Sorry i should have asked if you are using a Desktop or Laptop PC, if its a Laptop, forget all i have typed as they are very limited as an option to upgrade to a Multi Booting System. If it is a Desktop, Happy Days, you can keep the Win 7 OS. If you need any help with this, i am happy for you to PM me. I use a 4 SSD Multi Booting System and i get best of all Worlds Or "Windows OSs".

Best of luck with your new PC, hope you enjoy Win 11.

Why not just create a virtual machine with Windows 7? Hyper-V is built in. You could even have copied Your whole old machine to a virtual one.

Well, I hope Barb mentions all of our thoughts (minus the slurpee, of course ) to her computer guy. I trust he'll do what Barb wants.

By the way, if he fixes you back up with W7, make sure to get 0Patch, Barb: https://0patch.com/

Thank you all for your thoughts. Much appreciated.  I'm not doing any of the above,  I have a Windows 10, but it was  upgraded to windows 11 at some point.  It works.  But really is there a lot of crap on it!lol!  Microsoft stuff. Which will take time to learn/ or maybe just ignore it! Like the co pilot. But anyway, thank you all again.

It may be awhile to do a fractal, jwildifre, mb3d... but there is the loooong winter coming!
